The Role

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting both academic achievement and pupil wellbeing throughout the school day.

Working closely with class teachers and support staff, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum learning
  • Delivering targeted interventions to individuals and small groups
  • Providing 1:1 support for pupils who require additional assistance
  • Supporting children with additional learning needs and SEND requirements
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Assisting with classroom preparation and learning activities
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

This role provides excellent exposure to classroom practice and is ideal for graduates considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, or wider education support roles.

About You, To be successful in this role, you will :

  • Hold a 2:1 degree or above
  • Have a degree in Education, Psychology, English, Maths, or a related subject (desirable)
  • Demonstrate a positive, proactive, and reliable approach
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a genuine passion for education and child development
  • Be eager to gain practical school-based experience
  • Be considering a future career in teaching or education
  • Have the right to work in the UK
