Graduate Speech and Language Therapist 

Leeds | Immediate Start | Long-Term | Up to £650 per week

About the Role

A Leeds-based educational setting is seeking a skilled and confident Speech and Language Therapist to support pupils aged 4–16 with diverse communication, social, emotional, and developmental needs.

This is a hands-on role requiring independence, initiative, and the ability to deliver high-quality therapy from day one. You'll be working in a dedicated SEND environment where your expertise will directly shape outcomes for young people.

Start date: ASAP
Duration: Until at least February half-term, with potential to extend based on permanent recruitment

What You'll Be Doing

  • Conduct comprehensive SaLT assessments and develop tailored intervention plans
  • Deliver impactful therapy through 1:1 sessions, small groups, and class-based support
  • Produce detailed, high-quality reports to inform EHCPs, annual reviews, and school records
  • Support children with autism, neurodiversity, developmental language delays, and wider SEND profiles
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, therapy colleagues, and pastoral teams to embed communication strategies
  • Provide training, modelling, and guidance to staff to build whole-school communication capacity

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with current HCPC registration
  • Enhanced DBS check (child workforce)
  • Demonstrable experience supporting children and young people aged 4–16
  • Strong background in SEND settings, particularly with autistic and neurodivergent learners
  • Confident in assessment, intervention planning, and report writing
  • Able to work independently and manage a varied caseload from day one
    (This role is not suitable for NQTs or newly qualified therapists)

Desirable:

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and solution-focused
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based SaLT interventions and approaches
  • A genuine commitment to improving communication outcomes and inclusion for young people
