About this role

You must be able to provide support to service users, in their own homes by assisting with:

  • Outings, activities and social engagement
  • Grocery shopping and meal preparation
  • Personal care requirements showering, grooming or getting ready for the day
  • Light household cleaning

 

An ideal candidate will have all or most of the following characteristics:

  • Be fully vaccinated against covid-19
  • Experience as a team leader or senior carer, or experience as a support worker and willing to develop in their career
  • Reliable

As a Team Leader you need to have:

  • Experience of supporting adults in a care setting or in the community
  • An awareness and understanding of Learning Disabilities
  • Good communication skills, patience and flexibility
  • An understanding of safeguarding and person-centred support
  • A flexible working patterns
  • An NVQ L3 in Health & Social Care, or NVQ 2 willing to work to NVQ 3      
  • Have supervisory/management experience
  • Be highly motivated and be able to work on their own initiative
  • Be well organised
  • Have a passion and enthusiasm for delivering quality services to vulnerable people
  • A driving license & access to your own vehicle would be a bonus

 Team Leader's duties will be:

  • To ensure that each individual maintains the lifestyle of their choice by ensuring each person has a person-centred plan which is continually reviewed.
  • To ensure that each individual has the means to express their needs and wishes and that methods of communication are clearly recorded and shared with all members of the team.
  • To ensure that the best interests of each person we support are at the centre of any decisions made about their life, and to work in partnership with them, their advocates, family, friends and significant others.
