ECT – Day-to-Day Supply Teacher

About Us

Milk Education is more than a supply partner — we’re a community for educators. Join us and gain valuable classroom experience, build your confidence and access ongoing training, development and support throughout your teaching career.

We’re currently recruiting for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking for flexible, short-term and day-to-day teaching opportunities across local schools. This is a fantastic way to gain experience in different school environments, develop your classroom practice and build your confidence while keeping the flexibility to choose when and where you work.

Day-to-day supply can also be a great stepping stone into your next role. As you gain experience and get to know different schools, there may be opportunities to move into longer-term assignments, temp-to-perm positions or permanent teaching roles where the right fit is found.

You’ll have the opportunity to work in supportive and inclusive schools where you can experience different teaching environments, meet new colleagues and develop a strong understanding of what works for you as an educator.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering engaging and purposeful lessons using the school's existing plans and resources
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Supporting pupils to remain focused, engaged and motivated throughout the school day
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's expectations and policies
  • Adapting your approach to meet the needs of different pupils and classes
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and school staff
  • Providing appropriate feedback to school staff following your lessons
  • Following school policies and maintaining high standards of safeguarding

Requirements or Skills:

  • QTS or currently completing your ECT programme
  • A genuine passion for teaching and supporting children and young people
  • A positive and adaptable approach to working in different school environments
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • The confidence to take responsibility for a class, with support available when needed
  • A willingness to learn from different school settings and develop your teaching practice
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Previous teaching experience through placements, training or school-based experience

Benefits:

  • Flexible day-to-day work – choose the days you want to work around your availability
  • Gain valuable experience – experience different schools, year groups, teaching styles and environments
  • Potential longer-term opportunities – day-to-day supply can lead to longer-term, temp-to-perm or permanent positions
  • Competitive rates of pay
  • Speedy registration process & fast-track compliance – APSCo Compliance+ accredited for the highest safer recruitment standards
  • Culture-matched placements – we take the time to understand you and find schools that fit your values and strengths
  • Priority Partnership school network – access to trusted schools who work with us long-term on staffing, enrichment and community initiatives
  • 5+ CPD courses completed before placement, including Safeguarding, SEND & Behaviour, with access to further accredited training through Milk Academy
  • FREE PSHE lesson plans and resources, designed by real teachers
  • FREE Educator Wellbeing resources and access to our community hub – because we believe supported staff stay longer and make a bigger impact
  • School Preparation Pack with handover notes and insightful school guides – so you walk in ready on day one
  • 24/7 support from your personal consultant, directly through their work mobile phone, ensuring you always have someone to speak to
  • Opportunities to build relationships with schools and become a familiar face within their staffing teams

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
