The Role

As a Graduate Unqualified Maths Teacher, you will work as part of a supportive Maths department, gaining valuable experience in the classroom while learning from experienced teachers and school leaders.

You may be responsible for:

• Delivering engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Supporting GCSE students with revision and examination preparation.
• Breaking down challenging mathematical concepts into clear explanations.
• Planning lessons and contributing to departmental resources.
• Setting and marking classwork, homework and assessments.
• Monitoring student progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Supporting students with different abilities and learning needs.
• Encouraging confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards Maths.
• Maintaining high standards of behaviour, effort and achievement.
• Supporting intervention, revision and enrichment activities.
• Working closely with experienced teachers to develop your classroom practice.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for graduates with the academic ability, enthusiasm and personality to become excellent teachers.

You will ideally have:

• A degree in Mathematics, a Maths-related subject or a closely related discipline.
• A strong academic background, with a 2:1 or above preferred.
• Excellent mathematical knowledge and communication skills.
• A genuine passion for education and working with young people.
• The confidence and presence to lead a classroom.
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Resilience, patience and adaptability.
• High expectations of yourself and your students.
• A willingness to learn and develop from experienced teachers.
• A clear ambition to pursue a long-term career in teaching.

Previous experience as a Maths tutor, mentor, teaching assistant, coach, youth worker or volunteer is desirable but not essential.

Above all, we're looking for someone who genuinely wants to inspire students, improve their confidence and help them achieve their potential.
