Are you confident providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils across KS2, KS3 and KS4?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a comprehensive school in Nottingham that supports pupils with SEND and has a particular focus on behaviour and SEMH needs. The school provides a structured and supportive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to engage positively with their education and develop socially and emotionally.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant for short-term and long-term opportunities, supporting pupils across Key Stage 2 / KS2, Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will provide 1:1 and small group support, assist with behaviour management, encourage engagement with classroom learning and help pupils access the curriculum.

The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or SEND Teaching Assistant
• Experience supporting children and young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
• Experience providing 1:1 and small group support within an education setting
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• The ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting pupils across KS2 to KS4
