Small Works Estimator

Salary: £28,500-£32,500 + flexibility up to £40,000 for the right experience

Our client is looking for an ambitious Estimator who wants to build their career.

Our client specialises in repairs, maintenance and first-fix works, rather than major construction or new-build projects. The role will focus on smaller works, typically up to £15k at a high volume, giving you exposure to a varied range of projects and clients.

You'll join a close-knit team and work alongside experienced colleagues, with a clear opportunity to develop as the business continues to grow.

The Role

As a Small Works Estimator, you'll manage the estimating process from initial enquiry through to quotation, including:

• Reviewing client enquiries and scopes of work.

   

• Arranging engineer site visits and reviewing survey information.

   

• Challenging and refining scopes where required.

   

• Obtaining costs from approved suppliers and subcontractors.

   

• Producing accurate and competitive quotations.

   

• Managing costs through the company's job tracking system.

   

• Working closely with coordinators, engineers and subcontractors to deliver a smooth process.

   

You'll be given the opportunity to develop your commercial understanding and become an important part of the estimating function.

What Our Client Is Looking For

Ideally, you'll have:

• 2+ years' experience in estimating, repairs, fixing or maintenance.

   

• Experience within a subcontractor environment, particularly plumbing, electrical, joinery or similar.

   

• Strong numerical and analytical ability.

   

• Excellent attention to detail.

   

• Good knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.

   

• Strong communication and organisational skills.

   

• A genuine desire to develop and progress your career.

   

New-build estimating experience alone is unlikely to be suitable, as the focus is firmly on repairs, maintenance and fixing works.
