TeacherActive is proud to be working with an independent specialist day school in Frome, providing education and support for pupils aged 6 to 19 with high-functioning Autism / ASD and associated additional needs. The school offers a welcoming and structured environment where pupils are supported to develop academically, socially and emotionally, with a strong focus on independence and preparation for adult life.

The school is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant from September on a full-time, temporary basis. The successful Learning Support Assistant will provide individualised classroom and one-to-one support, helping pupils access learning, participate confidently in lessons and work towards their personal goals while developing greater independence.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND is desirable
• An understanding of Autism / ASD and associated additional needs
• The ability to provide calm, consistent and structured support
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
• A patient, resilient and proactive approach to supporting learning
