TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school based in Cardiff, supporting pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs / ALN. The school is committed to providing pupils with the individual support they need to engage positively with their education and school environment.

The school is looking to take on a Learning Support Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis throughout the academic year. The successful Learning Support Assistant will provide classroom and pastoral support to pupils with ALN, including a group of boys who can display challenging behaviour, helping them remain engaged with learning and manage their behaviour effectively.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with ALN
• Experience working with secondary school aged pupils is desirable
• Confidence supporting pupils who can display challenging behaviour
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient and resilient approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
