TeacherActive is proud to be working with a good school in Grantham that is looking to appoint a BSL Teaching Assistant. The school provides a supportive learning environment and is committed to helping individual students access their education and achieve their potential.

The school is looking to take on a BSL Teaching Assistant on a full-time, temporary basis starting in September for the first term, with the possibility of the position being extended for the right candidate. The successful BSL Teaching Assistant will provide targeted classroom support to specific students, using their British Sign Language / BSL skills to support communication, engagement and access to learning.

The successful BSL Teaching Assistant will have:

• A minimum Level 2 qualification in British Sign Language / BSL
• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children and young people in an educational setting
• Confidence supporting individual students within the classroom
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient and adaptable approach
• A ‘can-do’ attitude with a willingness to support students throughout the school day
