Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Peckham, South East London

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience)

TeacherActive are recruiting for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to work within specialist SEND settings across Southwark.

We work with schools supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, which may include autism (ASC), severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), communication needs, sensory needs and physical disabilities.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you may be required to provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist pupils with accessing learning, promote independence and communication, and work closely with teachers and other professionals to meet individual pupil needs.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND

• A patient, caring and resilient approach

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• Confidence supporting pupils with complex needs

• A good understanding of safeguarding

• Personal care experience would be beneficial
