Area Safety Advisor – Midlands, Manchester & South West

AREA SAFETY ADVISOR – CONSTRUCTION

Location: Midlands / Manchester / South West / Wales
Salary: £40,000–£50,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications
Allowance: 10% Car/PCP Allowance
Hours: 40 hours per week, 8am–5pm (1-hour lunch)
Employment: Full-time, Permanent

We are currently looking for an experienced Area Safety Advisor to provide professional Health & Safety advice, guidance and support across our operating companies and sites.

This is a regional role covering the Midlands, Wales, Manchester and South West, working closely with management, supervisors and site teams to maintain high standards of Health & Safety and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide Health & Safety advice, guidance and support across the business
• Prepare and submit quarterly Safety Reports to the Managing Director
• Coordinate and present Health & Safety statistics
• Advise on risk assessments, method statements and quality plans
• Keep up to date with Health & Safety legislation, HSE guidance and Codes of Practice
• Carry out regular site inspections and provide written reports
• Investigate serious accidents and dangerous occurrences
• Advise on the safe use of plant and equipment
• Inspect documentation relating to lifting equipment, scaffolding, plant and machinery
• Maintain accurate Health & Safety records and accident statistics
• Deliver company inductions
• Deliver Health & Safety training across the region
• Support fire prevention and fire-fighting training where required
• Liaise with HSE inspectors, industry safety associations and relevant safety committees

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• NEBOSH Construction qualification
• White CSCS Card
• Minimum 3 years’ experience within the building/construction industry
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and regulations
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a regional workload
• Strong organisational and analytical skills
