VAN DRIVER – INCLUDES WAREHOUSE & COMPUTER WORK – Glasgow

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £13.00 per hour, Monday to Friday working, no weekends, immediate starts and the opportunity to secure a permanent position with a well-established business.

This is a varied role combining driving, warehouse duties and computer-based order processing, making it ideal for candidates looking for more than just a driving position.

This role would suit candidates with experience as a Van Driver, Multi-Drop Driver, Delivery Driver, 3.5 Tonne Driver, Home Delivery Driver, Driver / Warehouse Operative, Warehouse & Delivery Driver or Warehouse Operative.

Day-to-Day Duties

As a Van Driver, your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Completing customer deliveries in a timely manner while adhering to health and safety guidelines
  • Working with a Driver's Mate or second driver where required due to two-person lifting
  • Delivering products to customers' room of choice
  • Completing residential deliveries safely and efficiently
  • Providing excellent customer service at all times
  • Carrying out general warehouse duties as required
  • Picking, packing and preparing orders for dispatch
  • Inputting and processing customer orders using computer systems
  • Assisting with stock control and general housekeeping duties

Essential Skills

To be successful as a Van Driver, you will need:

  • A valid UK Category B Driving Licence
  • A minimum of 12 months' experience driving 3.5 tonne vehicles
  • Previous multi-drop delivery experience
  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences and no IN10, DR10 or DD10 endorsements
  • Good computer skills and confidence using order processing systems
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team

Desirable Experience

  • At least 12 months' multi-drop delivery experience
  • Previous warehouse experience would be advantageous
  • Experience working within a fast-paced delivery or logistics environment would be beneficial
  • Experience using stock systems or computerised order processing would be desirable

Training Provided

  • Paid site induction and assessment prior to starting
  • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
