Salary: £130 - £150 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a primary SEND school in Stechford that supports pupils from across Birmingham and neighbouring local authorities. The school provides an appropriate and progressive curriculum for children with autism / ASD, encompassing and extending the National Curriculum to meet pupils' individual educational and social needs.

The school is looking to take on a Higher Level Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis with an Immediate Start. The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will support children with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder / ASD and an Education, Health and Care Plan / EHCP, helping pupils access learning at an appropriate level and supporting their educational and social development.

The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant / HLTA qualification or equivalent

• Experience supporting children with autism / ASD

• Experience working with children with SEND and EHCPs

• A strong understanding of supporting pupils with individual learning needs

• A patient, adaptable and positive approach

• The ability to work effectively as part of a school team
