Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant Are you a Psychology graduate looking for hands-on experience supporting young people with additional needs? Considering a future career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, SEN teaching or child development? Would a full academic year working directly with students with SEN and EHCPs give you the experience your future career needs? KPI Education is looking for a compassionate, academically strong Psychology Graduate to join an inclusive London secondary school as a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant. This role has a particular focus on supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). For a Psychology graduate considering Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, SEN teaching or another child-focused profession, this is an opportunity to build substantial school-based experience. Why This Role Stands Out
The School & SEN Provision This welcoming secondary school has developed a strong culture of inclusion, with an established SEN department supporting students with varying levels of additional need. The school recognises that effective SEN support is about far more than helping a pupil complete their work. Staff focus on building confidence, independence, communication, emotional regulation and engagement with learning. You will become an important part of this provision. What Will You Be Doing? Your role could include:
Depending on the school's needs, you may work with pupils presenting with autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, cognition and learning needs, or social, emotional and mental health needs. Who Are We Looking For? You should hold a Psychology degree, ideally at 2:1 or First-Class level, and have a genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs. Previous SEN experience is advantageous but not essential. More important is your patience, emotional maturity, reliability and ability to build appropriate, consistent relationships with young people. This isn't simply a graduate job to fill a year. For the right candidate, it offers the chance to gain sustained, practical SEN experience and develop a much deeper understanding of how psychological principles translate into everyday educational support. Apply Today If you're serious about building a career in Psychology, SEN or education, this could be the experience that sets your next application apart. Send your CV to Ryan at KPI Education today to apply for this Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – SEN & EHCP Support position starting September 2026. Strong Psychology graduates are encouraged to apply early. INDEDU |
