Third in Charge – Oxford

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (Part-Time Potentially Considered)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: Up to £34,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications)
Location: Oxfordshire

About the Role:

An exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Early Years professional to join the senior management team as Third in Charge. You'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the nursery while maintaining high standards of care and education.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

• Level 3 or above in Early Years/Childcare (UK recognised)
• Proven experience in a senior practitioner or leadership role
• Strong knowledge of EYFS framework and safeguarding
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Manager and Deputy in leading the nursery
• Oversee daily operations and ensure quality standards
• Lead and mentor nursery practitioners
• Maintain compliance with Ofsted requirements
• Support staff training and development
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead when required
• Build positive partnerships with parents and families
• Cover management responsibilities in senior staff absence
