Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment is recruiting for a Goods In Warehouse Operative to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Markham Vale.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Goods In Operative, FLT Driver, Warehouse Operative, Stores Operative, Materials Handler or Stock Controller looking to secure a long-term role within a busy heavy industrial environment.

Working Hours

Week 1

• Monday to Thursday: 6:00am – 2:30pm
• Friday: 6:00am – 10:00am

Week 2

• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
• Friday: 10:00am – 2:00pm

Pay: £13.27 per hour

Duties

• Receiving, checking and booking in incoming deliveries.
• Operating a Counterbalance FLT to unload, transport and store heavy steel, alloy and engineering materials.
• Safely moving long, heavy and awkward loads throughout the warehouse and production areas.
• Carrying out visual quality inspections on incoming materials.
• Checking delivery paperwork and updating stock records.
• Supplying materials to production when required.
• Supporting warehouse and stock control activities.
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping and health & safety standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience within Goods In, Warehouse, Stores, Manufacturing or Materials Handling.
• Counterbalance FLT experience (licence preferred).
• Experience moving heavy materials within an engineering or manufacturing environment is advantageous.
• Good attention to detail.
• Reliable with a strong commitment to health and safety.
• Able to work effectively within a busy team.
