HGV Class 1 Driver - Afternoon Shift - East Midlands Gateway, Derbyshire

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in East Midlands Gateway, Derbyshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, consistent Monday to Friday work, and long-term opportunities with the potential to secure a permanent position.

This role will suit applicants looking for work as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• £17.08 per hour – 06:00 - 18:00
• £21.35 per hour – 18:00 - 06:00

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday
• Start times between 14:00 and 16:00

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Driver are:

• Safely operating Category C+E vehicles completing 3–5 trunk runs per day
• Operating curtain-sider trailers and securing loads correctly, including awkward loads
• Making timely deliveries to various destinations
• Communicating effectively with the transport team
• Adhering to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
• Ensuring full compliance with driving laws and working time directives

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• Valid UK Category CE Licence
• Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• Minimum six months continuous Class 1 driving experience
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
• No major endorsement codes
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Professional and reliable attitude

Training:

• Driving assessment required prior to start
• Three-day paid company induction programme
• Full industry-related training and ongoing support
