Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools | South Tyneside

We are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants (TAs) to work across a range of primary schools in South Tyneside. These roles are ideal for candidates seeking immediate starts, long-term placements, or flexible work to fit around other commitments.

Opportunities are available across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, including general classroom support and SEND support roles.

The Role

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils

• Assist with the learning, development, and wellbeing of pupils

• Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND where required

• Help maintain a positive, safe, and well-managed classroom environment

• Follow school policies, including safeguarding and behaviour management

Requirements

• Experience working with children in a primary school or similar setting

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A good understanding of safeguarding practices

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

• Relevant TA qualification (desirable but not essential)
