Production Operative

KPI Recruiting are currently looking for Production Operatives to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Cheddleton, Staffordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy production environment with full training provided and long-term career prospects.

Working Hours

This role operates on a 3 on / 3 off rotating shift pattern, including days and nights:

• Days: 06:00 - 18:00
• Nights: 18:00 - 06:00

Average of 42 hours per week.

Please note: Candidates must be able to work both day and night shifts as part of the rota. This is a rotating shift pattern, and we are unable to accommodate applicants looking for permanent days only or permanent nights only.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Operating plant machinery and production process lines
• Driving forklifts and other site vehicles (training provided)
• Monitoring production processes and carrying out basic product sampling
• Ensuring finished products meet quality specifications
• Reporting equipment faults and production issues
• General housekeeping and maintaining a clean working area
• Using lifting equipment safely
• Carrying out confined space entries when required
• Following all Health & Safety procedures and site regulations
• Recording information using computers and handheld devices

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience within a manufacturing, production, processing or industrial environment
• Forklift truck or plant operating experience would be advantageous, although full training can be provided
• Strong attention to detail
• Good understanding of Health & Safety practices
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Comfortable using computers and handheld devices
• Reliable, hardworking and keen to learn new skills

Working Environment

This role is based within a pet food ingredients manufacturing facility. Due to the nature of the products being processed, there are natural manufacturing odours present within some areas of the site. We believe in being upfront about the working environment so candidates can make an informed decision before applying. The site maintains high standards of cleanliness, safety and operational procedures at all times.
