Purchasing Administrator |Up to £26,000 per annum |Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm| Permanent
The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing Administrator to join a busy and growing manufacturing business as part of a small, supportive purchasing team. This role would suit someone with previous experience in a purchasing or administrative role, or someone looking to build a long-term career within purchasing.
Key Responsibilities
Raise and expedite purchase orders to meet business requirements
Communicate with suppliers via email and telephone
Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery dates, back orders, shortages and returns
Match order confirmations against purchase orders
Maintain pricing and ordering policies for stock items
Resolve invoice queries and discrepancies
Work closely with internal departments to support business operations
Carry out ad-hoc indirect purchasing for the business
Attend face-to-face meetings with suppliers when required
Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
Skills & Experience Required
Strong attention to detail (essential)
Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook (essential)
Ability to quickly learn new systems, products and processes
Good numeracy skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively
Interest in long-term career development within purchasing
