The school is focused on ensuring pupils receive the emotional, social and academic support they need to develop their confidence, manage their behaviour and achieve their full potential.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant / HLTA on a long-term temporary basis with an immediate start. The successful Teaching Assistant / HLTA will work closely with teaching and support staff to provide emotional and behavioural support, manage challenging situations and encourage positive engagement with learning, both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

The successful Teaching Assistant / HLTA will have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant or HLTA qualification is desirable

• Previous experience working with young people in a secondary school or educational setting

• Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs

• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively alongside teaching and support staff

• A patient, resilient and caring approach with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils
