You will play a key role in coordinating daily warehouse activities, supporting the warehouse team and liaising with other departments to ensure orders, deliveries and production requirements are met accurately and efficiently.

The role may involve shift working to cover operational requirements, including early mornings, evenings and occasional overnight shifts. During peak periods, annualised hours may apply, requiring flexibility to work additional hours when needed, with time off taken during quieter periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Release e-commerce orders for picking by the warehouse team using the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Print and prepare labels for production activities and pallet despatches.
  • Organise and manage stock replenishments to ensure stock availability.
  • Liaise with hauliers and transport providers to coordinate daily collections and despatches.
  • Act as a key point of contact for the warehouse team, supporting the coordination of daily activities.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments regarding deliveries, production requirements and operational issues.
  • Investigate, identify and report stock discrepancies, helping to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Assist with picking and packing activities, ensuring a high level of accuracy when processing e-commerce, spares and production orders.
  • Use handheld scanners to process stock movements and orders accurately.
  • Operate a powered pallet truck (PPT) where required.
  • Work collaboratively within a close-knit warehouse team and build effective working relationships across departments.
  • Follow all relevant health and safety procedures, quality requirements and operational standards.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as required, following discussion with your line manager or management team.

Person SpecificationEssential Requirements

  • Previous experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) is essential.
  • Good computer skills and confidence using warehouse and administrative systems.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive, positive and flexible approach to work.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with colleagues across different departments.
  • A commitment to accuracy, safety and maintaining high operational standards.
  • Willingness to undertake both administrative and practical warehouse duties.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and additional hours during peak periods, in line with operational requirements.

Desirable Requirements

  • A valid powered pallet truck (PPT) licence or relevant operating experience.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse administration or warehouse operative role.
  • Experience with stock control, order processing, picking, packing and despatch operations.

Physical Requirements

The role involves a combination of administrative and practical warehouse activities. The successful candidate should be comfortable with the physical requirements of warehouse work, which may include:

  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Lifting and moving stock in accordance with safe manual handling procedures.
  • Bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching and stretching as required.
  • Using handheld scanners and other warehouse equipment requiring manual dexterity.

Appropriate training and safe working procedures will apply to relevant tasks.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys a varied role and can balance administrative accuracy with hands-on warehouse responsibilities. You will be reliable, adaptable and confident working in a fast-paced environment where teamwork, communication and attention to detail are essential.

If you have WMS experience and are looking for a varied warehouse role combining administration, stock control and operational support, we would welcome your application.
