Area Manager – Leisure & Hospitality

Location - Essex / London
Salary -    £50,000–£60,000

Ready to put your leadership skills into top gear? I am looking for an energetic Area Manager to oversee a growing portfolio of busy leisure and hospitality venues across Essex and London. 

This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys developing managers, improving performance and creating consistently brilliant guest experiences.

The role

• Lead, coach and develop General Managers, Assistant Managers and Heads of Department.
• Oversee multiple venues, with the portfolio expected to grow.
• Set clear performance plans, KPIs and development objectives.
• Deliver regular reviews, coaching and one-to-one support.
• Maintain high operational, service and safety standards.
• Roll out training, new initiatives and process improvements.
• Drive commercial growth across memberships, food and beverage and retail.
• Monitor site visits, team engagement and operational consistency.
• Manage rotas, wage control and complex people matters.
• Support guest feedback, service recovery and escalated issues.
• Help oversee alternative education programmes and instructor performance.

About you

• Proven multi-site leadership experience in leisure, hospitality, retail or a similar customer-focused environment.
• A confident people leader who develops and motivates managers.
• Strong commercial awareness and a focus on consistent results.
• High standards, excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach.
• Passionate about service, team engagement and operational excellence.
• Comfortable travelling across Essex and London.
