Speech and Language Therapist - SEN Schools London | Specialist SEN Schools | Full-Time / Long-Term Temporary Are you a Speech and Language Therapist looking to make a meaningful impact within specialist education? Would you like to work directly with children and young people with Autism, speech, language and communication needs and complex SEND, while becoming an integral part of the wider school team? Are you looking for a role where therapy is embedded into pupils' everyday learning rather than delivered in isolation? We are supporting a number ofspecialist SEN schools across London looking to appoint Speech and Language Therapists on a long-term basis. These settings support children and young people with a broad range of additional needs, which can include Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), complex communication profiles, developmental needs and associated sensory or social-emotional needs. The role will involve working directly with pupils while also supporting teachers and Teaching Assistants to embed communication strategies throughout the school day. You will work as part of a wider multidisciplinary team, helping pupils develop their communication, access learning more effectively and build greater independence. Depending on the school and your experience, opportunities can be available across Primary, Secondary and Post-16 provision, with caseloads and responsibilities tailored accordingly. Key responsibilities include:
The original role particularly emphasises integrating therapy within the wider school environment, contributing to EHCP processes and working collaboratively with education staff, families and other therapists. We are looking for someone who:
The source specification requires a recognised SaLT qualification, HCPC registration and experience with SEND, while also highlighting Autism, SLCN and multidisciplinary working. Why work within a specialist SEN school? Working as a Speech and Language Therapist within a school allows you to see pupils regularly and work closely with the adults supporting them every day. Rather than therapy existing separately from education, your strategies can be built directly into classroom teaching, communication systems, transitions, social interaction and everyday routines. You will work alongside experienced SEN professionals and have the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge across Autism, complex communication and wider SEND. These roles would suit both an experienced paediatric Speech and Language Therapist and a therapist looking to develop their career further within specialist education. £160 - £240 per day | Long-Term Temporary | Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Apply now or send your CV to Stephen at KPI Education to be considered.
