TeacherActive is proud to be working with a Pupil Referral Unit / PRU in Cardiff with good transport links, who are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant / LSA. The PRU provides education and support for secondary-aged pupils who require additional guidance and a structured learning environment.

The PRU is looking to take on a Learning Support Assistant / LSA on a full-time, temporary basis starting ASAP and continuing until Christmas. The successful Learning Support Assistant will support pupils within a secondary-aged class, helping them engage with learning, manage their behaviour and access the curriculum effectively.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience working with secondary-aged children or young people
• Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs and/or challenging behaviour
• A good understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
