Milk Education is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in Consett, Durham, supporting pupils across the primary age range.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work alongside teachers and school staff to support pupils with their learning, confidence and development. You’ll help create a positive, inclusive environment where every child feels supported and able to succeed.

Responsibilities may include:

• Supporting pupils with classroom learning and activities
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support
• Helping children develop confidence, independence and social skills
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
• Building strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Helping maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children or young people
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, caring and positive approach
• Reliability, adaptability and enthusiasm
• A relevant Level 2/3 qualification is desirable but not essential where you have suitable experience
