About the Opportunity

We are hiring for an iconic luxury hotel in Vancouver seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Engineering to support the leadership of all engineering and maintenance operations.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role will oversee preventative maintenance programs, building systems, capital projects, team leadership, and regulatory compliance while helping ensure exceptional guest experiences throughout the property. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineering leader looking to join a prestigious hospitality operation and contribute to the ongoing success of a landmark hotel.

Requirements

• Power Engineer Certification (Minimum 4th Class, 2nd Class preferred)
• 5+ years of engineering leadership experience within hotels, resorts, or large commercial properties
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Proven experience leading engineering and maintenance teams
• Experience managing preventative maintenance programs and asset preservation
• Exposure to capital projects, budgeting, and operational planning
• Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and compliance standards
• Experience working within a unionized environment is an asset
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
