Student Engagement Mentor

We’re currently hiring for a Student Engagement Mentor to join a welcoming Primary School based in North Durham.

You’ll be joining a friendly setting that puts wellbeing and community at the center of everything they do.  Helping to build a happy and secure learning environment for all.

Student Engagement Mentor - Requirements or Skills:

• A real passion for working with children
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting children’s learning
• Understanding of additional needs and how to support them
• Recent experience working in a school or education setting (preferred)
• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred)

Student Engagement Mentor - Main Responsibilities:

• Encouraging independence by helping pupils develop communication and self-management skills
• Supporting learners by providing one-to-one or small group assistance
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals
• Maintaining safeguarding and confidentiality, following school policies
