Milk Education is recruiting passionate Psychology Graduates to work in specialist SEN schools across Darlington. This full-time opportunity offers invaluable experience supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs while helping them thrive in a supportive educational environment.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and specialist staff, supporting pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs, including:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• ADHD
• Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
• Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD & SLD)
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Sensory and physical needs

You will provide one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils access learning, build confidence, develop independence, and reach their full potential both academically and socially.

Your Responsibilities

As a Psychology Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
• Encourage participation and engagement in lessons
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Build trusting, professional relationships with pupils
• Support communication, social development and independence
• Work collaboratively with school staff and external professionals
• Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

What We're Looking For

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• A degree in Psychology or a related subject
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy and resilience
• A proactive and positive attitude
• Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential, including mentoring, tutoring, coaching, youth work, care work or volunteering
