TeacherActive is proud to be working with a friendly mainstream primary school in Derby that provides a fun, inclusive and welcoming learning environment. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will join a supportive staff team who work together to help every child feel confident, included and excited about learning.

The school is looking to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant on a long-term, part-time basis from September 2026 until July 2027, working every Monday and Tuesday from 8.30am to 3.30pm. The SEN Teaching Assistant will provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with autism / ASD, using creative activities, clear routines and plenty of encouragement to support his learning, communication and classroom engagement.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
• Experience supporting primary-aged children with special educational needs / SEN
• Experience providing 1:1 support for children with autism / ASD
• A good understanding of positive behaviour support and structured routines
• A patient, caring and enthusiastic approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
