💷 Pay: £507 – £550 per week (dependent on experience)
🕒 Hours: Monday – Friday | Flexible (Full-time, Part-time & Supply available)

About the Teaching Assistant Opportunity

Milk Education is working in partnership with a range of welcoming and inclusive primary schools across South Tyneside to recruit enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants.

This is a fantastic opportunity whether you are:

You’ll be supporting pupils of varying abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to thrive both academically and socially.

Your Role as a Teaching Assistant

As a TA, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day life of the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs
  • Supporting children with SEND, including autism, ADHD, and speech & language needs
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering creative and engaging lessons
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Preparing classroom resources and supporting general classroom organisation
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teachers

What We’re Looking For in a Teaching Assistant 

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in children’s lives. Ideal candidates will have:

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent) – desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience working with children (schools, nurseries, youth work, or care settings)
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach
