We are seeking a dedicated and confident Legal Secretary / Fee Earner Support to join our Crime Department on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a fast-paced and varied support role within a busy criminal law team. We are looking for someone who is highly organised, accurate, proactive, and comfortable using their own initiative. The successful candidate will need to thrive under pressure, manage competing priorities effectively, and maintain a strong attention to detail at all times.

Skills & Experience

We welcome applications from individuals who:

• Have experience within a legal support or criminal law environment (preferred)
• Are educated to GCSE level 4–9 (A–C) or equivalent (essential)
• Have a fast and accurate typing speed
• Are confident working in a busy, high-pressure environment
• Can demonstrate strong organisational and administrative skills
• Have good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Are proactive, reliable, and able to use initiative

Key Responsibilities

This role will include, but is not limited to:

• Audio and copy typing of legal documents and correspondence
• Preparing and managing case files and court documents
• Liaising with clients, courts, counsel, police, and external agencies
• Assisting fee earners with case preparation, including hearings and trials
• Drafting documents and general legal correspondence
• Managing diaries, deadlines, and key case milestones
• General administrative duties to support the smooth running of the department
