Senior Project Manager

Oxfordshire with Hybrid working 3 days a week in the office

PAYE: £243.86 – £257 per day

Umbrella: £325.02 – £342.54 per day

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to lead a major bridge rebuilding project. This is a pivotal role, acting as the principal representative of the client and ensuring successful delivery from concept through to completion.

The Role

As Senior Project Manager, you will take full ownership of the project lifecycle—overseeing planning, design, procurement, and construction phases. You will ensure the project meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility while maintaining strong collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, contractors, engineers, and local authorities. Clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and effective stakeholder engagement will be central to your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee procurement processes and manage project contracts

Monitor progress against key milestones to ensure timely delivery

Identify risks and challenges early, implementing solutions to maintain momentum

Lead multidisciplinary teams and foster strong stakeholder relationships

Required Qualifications & Experience

Extensive experience delivering major infrastructure or civil engineering projects

Proven leadership and negotiation skills, with a track record of delivering on time and within budget

Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline

Relevant professional certification (e.g., chartership)

Strong knowledge of UK highways standards and bridge construction practices (desirable)
