We are currently recruiting a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team at a well-established paper mill. This is a permanent role offering a competitive salary and stable, long-term employment in a heavy manufacturing environment.

The Role

As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of plant and machinery across the site. Working a rotating day shift pattern, including weekends, you'll play a key role in minimising downtime and supporting safe, efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance

• Fault finding, repair, and overhaul of industrial machinery

• Working on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, and rotating equipment

• Supporting shutdowns and continuous improvement activities

• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures

About You

• Time-served Mechanical Fitter or equivalent mechanical qualification

• Experience in a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment (paper, FMCG, steel, chemicals, etc.)

• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills

• Comfortable working a rotating day shift pattern, including weekends

• A proactive attitude with a strong focus on health and safety
