We’re pleased to present the opportunity to join Urenco as an Engineer Control & Instrumentation. Based at our Gronau site in Germany, you’ll be acting as Control & Instrumentation (“the expertise area”) design engineer in delivery of Conceptual and Basic Design (=Front End Engineering Design) of new build or modifications of (production) facilities.

Supporting the Senior Engineer C&I in design development, design specification and safety basis of design. Also provide input to the Plant Safety Case.

Investigating and developing Plant Design concepts and executing feasibility/optioneering studies. Applying general design and engineering standards and investigating best available technology to support design delivery to Urenco customers.

Provides expert knowledge and advice concerning plant, systems and component design and engineering specifications to multiple projects in Urenco group.

What will your day look like?

• Actively promote a pro-active safety culture and perform analysis to create a learning from experience behaviour.
• Ensure advanced plant designs comprise safety features based on best industrial practice and lessons learnt from the (nuclear) business.
  • Determine C&I design engineering aspects, options and evaluation in contribution to feasibility/optioneering/best available technology studies.
  • Support delivery of Conceptual Design and Design Specifications with focus on C&I expertise area.
  • Support delivery of Basic Design packages concerning Core Plant Technology (CPT) with respect to C&I systems and equipment.
  • Provide directions and oversight concerning Detailed Design and supplier manufacturing quality processes on request of site or group project managers.

What do you need to be great at this role?
 

• Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Process Technology/Engineering/ Operation Technology/Advanced Technology
• Preferred: Additional post university degree/training in science/engineering relevant to the expertise area.
• Recognized experience in expertise area
• Demonstrable capability to analyse and model complex technical design problems and define advanced design solutions.
• Work experience in Design and Engineering.
• Ability to model and simulate complex stationary and dynamic integrated process systems with respect to process and mechanical requirements, design starting points.
  • The ability to apply concepts and past experience to problems or challenges to assist in organizational learning and development.
  • P&M expertise in (nuclear) process industry.
