Qualified SEND Teacher – Haringey

TeacherActive is currently recruiting for a passionate, experienced and fully Qualified SEND Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive specialist school in the Haringey area.

This exciting opportunity is ideal for a Qualified SEND Teacher who holds British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 or above and has experience supporting children and young people with hearing impairments and additional special educational needs.

The successful candidate will work within a specialist learning environment, delivering engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to individual pupils' communication, educational and developmental needs.

The Role

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to pupils with SEND.

• Use British Sign Language (BSL) to support effective communication and learning.

• Support pupils with hearing impairments, communication difficulties and additional learning needs.

• Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual EHCP targets.

• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENDCos and specialist support staff.

• Create a positive, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.

• Monitor pupil progress and promote independence, confidence and achievement.

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential.

• British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 qualification or above – Essential.

• Previous teaching experience within a SEND school or specialist provision.

• Experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired pupils.

• Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive classroom practice.

• Excellent communication, organisation and behaviour management skills.

• Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
