Insurance and Risk Manager

Location: Epping, Essex

Contract: Full-Time, Temporary

Hours: 36 hours per week

Rate: £34.68 PAYE / £44.48 Umbrella per hour

Working Arrangement: On-site 3 days per week

The Role

As Insurance and Risk Manager, you will provide professional leadership and advice across the insurance and risk functions. You will take responsibility for the development and procurement of the insurance programme, manage policies and renewals, oversee the insurance claims process and maintain the corporate risk register. You will work closely with managers and senior leaders to identify, assess and mitigate corporate risks, ensuring appropriate governance and effective risk management across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on all insurance matters, including the development and procurement of the insurance programme.
• Manage insurance policies, contracts and annual renewals.
• Lead and negotiate significant insurance tenders and renewals.
• Oversee the insurance claims process and maintain accurate claims records.
• Provide strategic insurance advice and insight to senior officers and members.
• Represent at internal and external meetings, committees, briefings and relevant forums.

You will have:

• Significant senior-level insurance experience within an organisation of comparable scale and complexity.
• Proven experience leading and negotiating insurance tenders, contracts and renewals.
• A strong understanding of corporate and strategic risk management.
• Experience maintaining or contributing to a corporate risk register.
• Strong knowledge of insurance claims and policy administration.
• Experience providing professional advice to senior officers, stakeholders or members.
• Experience managing strategic-level meetings and working collaboratively across an organisation.
