Steel Mill Operator – Three-shift Rotation - Wednesbury

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Steel Mill Operator based in Wednesbury to join our well-established client.

This would suit applicants who have worked as a Skilled Machine Operator, Manufacturing Operative or Production Operative within the steel industry.

Rates of Pay:

• £13.19 per hour (AM and PM shifts)
• £15.82 per hour (Night shifts)
• £18.88 per hour (Overtime 1)
• £24.28 per hour (Overtime 2)

Shift Pattern:

• Weekly rotating shifts (not fixed shifts)
• 06:00 - 14:00 Monday to Thursday & 06:00 - 12:00 Friday
• 14:00 - 22:00 Monday to Thursday & 12:00 - 18:00 Friday
• 22:00 - 06:00 Monday to Thursday & 18:00 - 00:00 Friday

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as a Steel Mill Operator are:

• Operating machinery in a steel mill safely and efficiently
• Loading and unloading machinery
• Monitoring production processes and machine performance
• Carrying out manual handling duties as required
• Supporting the movement of goods around the production area
• Conducting basic quality checks on finished products
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
• Following all health and safety procedures

Essential Skills:

To be successful as a Steel Mill Operator, you will need:

• Previous machine operating experience, ideally within the steel industry
• Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment
• Ability to carry out manual handling duties
• Good reliability and a strong work ethic
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Commitment to health and safety standards
