TeacherActive is proud to be working with a supportive specialist school in Westbury, providing education for pupils aged 11 to 18 who have experienced challenges within previous educational settings. With small class sizes and a nurturing learning environment, the school is committed to rebuilding pupils’ confidence, developing positive relationships with education and helping every young person recognise their individual strengths and potential.

The school is looking to appoint a Qualified Teacher from September on a full-time, temporary, long-term basis. The successful Qualified Teacher will plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans / EHCPs, primarily supporting students with ASD and SEMH needs while maintaining clear expectations, effective classroom management and a consistent learning environment.

The successful Qualified Teacher will have:

• QTS / Qualified Teacher Status, ECTs are welcome to apply
• Experience teaching pupils at secondary level
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD and/or SEMH needs
• A strong understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans / EHCPs
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• A resilient, patient and adaptable approach to teaching
