Salary: £100 - £120 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND provision in the OX3 area of Oxford, located within a small village setting. The school supports secondary-aged pupils aged 8-19 with dual diagnoses including Autism / ASD and Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD, providing a nurturing environment where pupils are supported to develop communication, independence and essential life skills.

The school is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful Teaching Assistant will provide 1:1 support to pupils, adapting their approach throughout the day as support needs vary across the setting. You will support pupils with complex needs, including non-verbal learners, personal care requirements and communication strategies, while also supporting activities such as trips, swimming and outdoor learning opportunities.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with complex SEND needs

• Experience supporting pupils with Autism / ASD and Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD

• Experience supporting non-verbal pupils and using visual communication strategies

• Confidence providing personal care when required

• Team Teach training or experience supporting positive behaviour approaches is desirable

• A resilient, enthusiastic and adaptable approach with a good sense of humour
