TeacherActive works with a number of welcoming, inclusive and supportive primary schools across Derby and Derbyshire. We are seeking passionate Primary Teachers to provide flexible day-to-day and short-term cover.

This is a great opportunity to experience different school environments, develop your classroom practice and work around your other commitments. Supply bookings can also lead to longer-term roles when the right placement becomes available.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Teaching across Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2
• Delivering lessons using plans and resources provided by the school
• Adapting activities to meet pupils’ individual needs
• Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement
• Creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment
• Supporting pupils with different abilities and backgrounds
• Marking completed work and providing feedback
• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures

The successful Primary Teacher will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status/QTS
• Have knowledge of the UK Primary Curriculum
• Be passionate about children’s education and development
• Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Be supportive, inclusive and approachable
• Be flexible and confident working across different settings
• Be reliable and able to adapt quickly
• Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
• Understand safeguarding, KCSIE and the Prevent Duty, or be willing to undertake relevant CPD training
