HGV Class 2 Driver

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Guildford.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, consistent hours, and genuine room to grow and progress within a respected business.

This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver or Truck Driver.

Shifts: Monday to Friday – 06:00am to 08:00am starts

Rates of Pay

• Basic: £19.00 per hour
• Overtime (after 9 hours): £25.25 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties

As an HGV Class 2 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Completing RDC or brewery deliveries (curtain-side, no handball)
• Operating and driving Class 2 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
• Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks
• Ensuring all loads are safely secured before transit
• Adhering to all traffic laws and road safety regulations
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance issues to management
• Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category C Licence
• A minimum of 12 months’ experience driving Category C vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences (No major endorsement codes)
• A valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• Good level of written and spoken English
• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping skills
• Strong understanding of road traffic laws and regulations
• Effective communication and customer service skills

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience in multi-drop deliveries
• Experience driving a range of commercial vehicles

Training Provided

• Industry-related training and ongoing support will be provided throughout your assignment.
