Kitchen Assistant - Wine Bar (Jesmond)

Overview

Kitchen Assistant required for a popular wine bar based in Jesmond. This role supports a high-performing, hospitality-led kitchen producing beautifully designed charcuterie boards, light bites and grazing platters to pair with an extensive range of wines and champagnes.

Key Responsibilities

• Curate and assemble charcuterie boards with an attractive, consistent presentation
• Prepare and plate light bites and grazing platters for service
• Support food preparation and portioning to meet daily requirements
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety in line with UK regulations
• Keep work areas stocked, organised and ready for busy periods
• Assist with basic kitchen tasks as directed by the Head Chef / kitchen team
• Ensure food quality, freshness and portion consistency throughout service

Role Details

• Schedule: Thursday to Sunday
• Hours: 9:30am-9:30pm (roughly each day)

Requirements

• Experience in a kitchen or catering environment (desirable)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to create visually appealing boards and platters
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safe food handling
• Ability to work efficiently during service, with a calm and proactive approach
• Team-focused attitude and willingness to support across tasks
