Project Coordinator – Value Chain | Remote | Full Time | £35,000 – £40,000 per annum

As mining and metals become increasingly critical to global supply chains and the energy transition, responsible production is essential to meeting growing demand sustainably.

Our client works with companies across metals value chains to promote responsible production practices that support sustainable development, reduce environmental impact, and benefit local communities, customers, and consumers.

The Role

Are you an organised Project Coordinator with strong stakeholder engagement skills?

This is an opportunity to support and coordinate projects, working groups and partnerships across the metals value chain, working closely with businesses and stakeholders internationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and, where appropriate, lead engagement with value chain actors, including partners, participants and other companies
  • Support the development and delivery of the Responsible Metals Value Chain Platform, working closely with other members of the team
  • Design and organise events and meetings to maximise engagement and benefit for value chain actors
  • Identify funding opportunities and potential project partners
  • Support the promotion and recruitment of new Value Chain Partners
  • Coordinate the GHG and Recycled Content Working Group
  • Coordinate and lead working group meetings
  • Provide regular and timely reports and updates for the working group
  • Identify and develop initiatives focused on GHG and Recycled Content to meet the needs of value chain actors while complementing existing systems and standards
  • Support and, where appropriate, lead the development and delivery of partnerships with influential value chain associations and relevant initiatives
  • Attend, contribute to and report on meetings, events and conferences held by relevant value chain initiatives
  • Maintain day-to-day relationships and projects with external initiatives and organisations
  • Represent our client at external events and conferences
  • Support the wider team with administrative, data processing, programme management and other tasks as required

Requirements

Essential

  • Excellent project management skills
  • Experience of working with companies and engaging with stakeholders within a project or industry relationship setting
  • Strong understanding of sustainability, responsible production, environmental issues or related subject areas
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and build agreement with stakeholders from different cultures and backgrounds
  • Ability to influence without authority and work effectively with technical, cross-functional and diverse stakeholders to deliver projects
  • Ability to produce high-quality written deliverables with excellent attention to detail
  • 1–3 years’ relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area, or equivalent work experience
  • Fluency in written and verbal English
  • Proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to manage workload independently
  • Positive attitude with a practical approach to getting work done

Desirable

  • Previous experience working with an industry body or within standards development processes
  • Experience within metals, mining, minerals or materials value chains
  • Experience within sustainability, ESG, responsible sourcing or a similar industry environment
  • Experience coordinating working groups
  • Understanding of how sustainability standards are implemented in practice
  • Understanding of minerals and metals production and supply chains
  • Experience engaging with businesses and managing external relationships
  • Technically savvy, with an understanding of online platforms used within a business setting
  • Master’s degree or equivalent number of years’ working experience

What’s In It For You

  • Salary of £35,000, with some flexibility depending on experience up to £40,000
  • 10% performance-related annual bonus based on base salary
  • 5% flexible benefits allowance, which can be used according to individual preference, including medical or pension contributions

  • Statutory pension contribution, with the option to use the flexible benefits allowance towards pension

  • Flexible working hours, with required availability between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm UK time
  • Approximately 4 international trips per year, with the potential for this to increase as the organisation develops
  • International travel expenses fully covered
  • Business class flights for journeys over 6 hours
  • Primarily European travel, with potential travel to North America
  • Annual in-person team retreat
