*Please note the company for the following role has an office located in East Central London, occasional office attendance will be required so they would ideally like someone based in Greater London but the role will be almost entirely remote working from home.
 
A significant and well renowned US based software company is looking to build their UK in-house legal team. The company is looking for a senior in-house commercial counsel to negotiate their EMEA customer contracts.
 
The company would like to speak to solicitors who have a minimum of 6 years PQE including significant in-house experience negotiating commercial software licensing contracts - ideally with additional experience in open-source, privacy, and negotiating with highly regulated entities in the UK and EU.
 
As Senior Commercial Counsel, you will:
 
·Help the company move commercial agreements from the first redline to signature with clarity and good judgment.
·Partner closely with Sales, Deal Desk, and Finance to negotiate contracts that support the business while managing legal risk.
·Lead negotiations across their commercial agreements and help teammates work through legal questions as deals progress.
·Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts with customers and business partners.
·Partner closely with Sales and Deal Desk throughout the contracting process.
·Work with Finance and other internal stakeholders to resolve commercial and contractual issues.
·Provide practical legal guidance that balances business goals with appropriate risk management.
·Help move negotiations forward by identifying issues, explaining trade-offs, and finding workable solutions.
 
The role will be full-time, permanent and salary will be negotiable depending on experience, but we would expect the salary to be extremely competitive.
