TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream primary school in Chesterfield that is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant. The school provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The school is looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to work on a long-term basis from ASAP until July 2027, supporting a boy in Year 3 with autism / ASD. The successful Teaching Assistant will provide consistent one-to-one support, help the pupil access classroom learning and work closely with the class teacher to promote positive engagement and progress.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children with autism / ASD
• Experience working with primary-aged children
• A good understanding of supporting additional needs within a mainstream classroom
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, calm and adaptable approach
• A positive and proactive attitude
