Refuse Loader – £12.71 per hour – Ilkeston (DE7)

Are you physically fit and enjoy working outdoors? We’re currently recruiting Refuse Loaders to join a busy local authority team in Ilkeston. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help collect household waste, recycling, bulky items, and garden waste, providing an essential service to the local community.

Pay & Benefits

  • £12.71 per hour
  • Paid until finish – complete your round early and still get paid

  • Overtime available at enhanced rates
  • Pay increase after 12 weeks

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • 06:30 – Zone is finished 
  • Overtime available during the week and weekends

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect household and recyclable waste
  • Load refuse onto collection vehicles
  • Work as part of a team to complete daily routes efficiently
  • Maintain high standards of safety and service

Requirements

  • Good level of physical fitness (role involves manual handling and walking 10–15 miles per day)
  • Reliable with strong timekeeping
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Previous outdoor or manual work experience is desirable but not essential
