An Outstanding primary school in the London Borough of Ealing is seeking an exceptional PPA & Intervention Teacher to join its dedicated team on a full-time, one-year fixed-term contract.

This highly regarded school has built a reputation for academic excellence, exceptional pastoral care, and a commitment to ensuring all pupils achieve their full potential. The school benefits from a strong leadership team, supportive parents, excellent behaviour throughout the school, and an ambitious curriculum designed to inspire a love of learning.

With a welcoming and collaborative staff culture, this is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced teacher seeking a varied role with significant impact across the primary phase.

The Role

This is not a traditional class teacher position.

The successful candidate will take on a key role within the school, providing high-quality PPA cover while leading targeted intervention programmes that help pupils make accelerated progress.

A significant proportion of the role will involve planning and delivering high-impact booster sessions in Year 5 and Year 6, particularly in English and Mathematics, ensuring pupils are well prepared for end-of-key-stage assessments and the transition to secondary education.

The role will also require the successful candidate to confidently cover classes across Key Stage 1, maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering engaging and effective PPA cover across the primary phase.
  • Leading targeted intervention groups in Mathematics and English.
  • Planning and teaching booster classes for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils.
  • Using assessment data to identify gaps in learning and accelerate progress.
  • Supporting pupils working below age-related expectations.
  • Challenging higher-attaining pupils to achieve their full potential.
  • Covering classes across Key Stage 1 when required.
  • Maintaining excellent classroom behaviour and positive learning environments.
  • Collaborating with class teachers, phase leaders, and senior leaders.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of intervention programmes.
  • Supporting the school's commitment to high-quality teaching and outstanding pupil outcomes.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) obtained in the UK.
  • Successful completion of the Early Career Teacher (ECT) induction period.
  • Proven experience teaching within a UK primary school.
  • Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Confidence delivering booster programmes and intervention groups.
  • Strong assessment and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience delivering SATs preparation and intervention programmes.
  • A track record of raising attainment in English and Mathematics.
  • Experience teaching across multiple primary year groups.
  • Confidence working with pupils of varying abilities and needs.
  • Experience within high-performing schools with strong behaviour expectations.

What the School Offers

  • Inner London salary on the M3-M6 scale (£44,238 - £52,300)
  • Full-time employment on a one-year fixed-term contract.
  • Term-time only working pattern.
