Science Graduate Teaching Assistant Are you a Science graduate looking to turn your subject knowledge into an exciting and rewarding career? Could you inspire secondary pupils to become more confident in Biology, Chemistry and Physics? Want to gain a full year of classroom experience before potentially progressing into teacher training in 2027? Science Graduate Teaching Assistant – Camden KPI Education is recruiting an academically strong Science Graduate Teaching Assistant for a successful and ambitious secondary school in Camden, North London. The school is looking for a talented Biology, Chemistry, Physics or related Science graduate who can bring energy, strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm into its thriving Science department. This is an excellent opportunity if teaching is on your radar but you want substantial classroom experience before committing to formal teacher training. Why This Science Graduate Role?
About the School Located in Camden, this is a diverse and academically ambitious secondary school with a busy sixth form and a strong focus on raising aspirations. Science is an important part of the school's curriculum, with well-resourced laboratories and an experienced department covering all three core sciences. Teachers aim to make Science engaging, practical and challenging. Pupils are encouraged to ask questions, develop their problem-solving abilities and consider future pathways into medicine, engineering, healthcare, technology and scientific research. What Will You Be Doing? You could spend your morning supporting a Year 10 Chemistry lesson before working with a small group of Year 11 pupils who need additional GCSE intervention. Later, you might assist with a Biology practical, provide individual Physics support or help create revision resources. As your confidence increases, the school will encourage you to take on greater responsibility, potentially including leading interventions and delivering parts of lessons under teacher supervision. Who Are We Looking For? The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, Natural Sciences or another closely related discipline. A 2:1 or First-Class degree is highly desirable, alongside strong subject knowledge and excellent communication skills. Previous classroom experience is not essential. Academic ability, enthusiasm, reliability and the confidence to engage young people are more important.
